When Clare called and told me what she had planned for her 40th birthday - long tables, an intimate dinner with her family and best friends, an atmosphere of sharing food, stories and laughter - I knew it was going to be something special and I was so thrilled to be asked to come along to document it for her.

A friend texted after the shoot to ask how it went. "So well," I wrote back. "It was full of so many good humans."

Not only is Clare a beautiful soul, but all the people she had around her on the night were just so lovely, her family, friends and all the staff at Kinfolk Cafe (she actually chose to have her dinner there because she loves their ethos and the fact they're a social enterprise).

It got me thinking of just how grateful I am that I get to work with so, so many wonderful people. I have a spot in my heart for all my clients and feel incredibly lucky that such sweet souls hire me, so let me just take this moment to say a big thank you! If we've ever worked together in the past, thank you! Thank you for being so lovely - it really makes my heart happy and puts a spring in my step (and then I text all my friends and tell them what great humans you all are. I might just do that now... ;)

But in the meantime here are some kind words from Clare:

"I am so glad we got the photo and video package as the photos were fantastic but her beautifully produced video of the night is amazing!
My favourite part of the whole experience was getting to meet Emma. From the moment I first made contact with her she was warm and friendly and I was 100% confident that she knew exactly what I was after. Emma was wonderfully friendly, provided great advice and even though my event was fairly intimate she was never intrusive, totally professional and made me feel like a movie star on the night."
